Meet Doug Radkey
Hospitality is full of passionate people with big ideas. But passion alone does not protect your investment, build your team, create your systems, or make your numbers work.
For over 15 years, I have helped hospitality entrepreneurs, investors, developers, and operators ask better questions before they make expensive decisions.
How I Can Help
Through a strategic blend of consulting, coaching, and founder education, I help bring clarity to every stage of the hospitality journey, from early concept validation to pre-opening strategy, post-opening performance, operational systems, and long-term growth.
Industry Impact
As a hospitality strategist, author, speaker, and the founder of KRG, I have had the privilege of working with 300+ bar, restaurant, hotel, nightlife, and experience-driven founders to help them move from scattered ideas and reactive decisions to strategic, profitable, and scalable businesses.
I am not a commentator watching hospitality from the sidelines. I have spent more than 15 years inside the planning rooms, boardrooms, construction timelines, opening weeks, operational resets, and leadership conversations that shape today’s leading hospitality businesses.
A 60-minute Impact Call is designed for founders, operators, investors, and hospitality leaders who need an outside perspective before making a major decision. This is a focused working session designed to identify gaps, pressure-test assumptions, and create clearer next steps.
A 12-month, 1-on-1 coaching and development program that helps founders develop the soft skills, hard skills, operating discipline, and financial clarity required to lead people, build systems, protect profit, and create a business that is not dependent on their daily presence.
This is where strategy meets execution.
This is where ideas become investment-ready.
This is where hospitality leaders build with intention.
My first book, Bar Hacks, was written to help bar and restaurant operators strengthen the fundamentals of hospitality leadership. The book explores culture, systems, food and beverage programming, operational energy, stabilization, scaling, and profitability. Years later, the message still holds true. The tools may change. The fundamentals do not.
Hacking the New Normal was written during one of the most disruptive moments the hospitality industry has ever faced. At the onset of the global pandemic, bars, restaurants, hotels, and experience-driven businesses were forced into an impossible reality. This book was created in that moment to challenge operators, founders, and industry professionals to rethink hospitality.
My upcoming book, Hospitality Reinvented, is a strategic leadership book for bar, restaurant, and hotel entrepreneurs who are ready to challenge the old operating model. The book explores why hospitality businesses break down, why reactive leadership is no longer enough, and how founders can build businesses with clarity, systems, and long-term sustainability.
"As a new restauranteur, I found exactly what I was looking for in Doug Radkey and KRG Hospitality. His expertise in the industry far exceeded my expectations and has provided me with the resources to succeed and thrive. I am beyond grateful” – The Pinery
I also use podcasting to create deeper conversations around hospitality leadership, operational strategy, business growth, and the future of this industry. Available on Spotify, Apple, Youtube, and Amazon.
I speak, write, and teach on the topics most founders and operators need to hear, even when they are difficult to confront. From speaking at industry conferences and schools around the world, I’d love to discuss a session for your audience.
Throughout the KRG Collective, we provide a growing ecosystem that is built to support hospitality founders, operators, investors, and experience-driven businesses across multiple verticals to help you start, stabilize, and scale.
Hospitality can still be exciting, creative, human, and meaningful. But it must also be structured, measured, and led with intention.

Frequently asked Questions
Doug Radkey helps hospitality founders, operators, investors, and leadership teams build stronger bars, restaurants, hotels, nightlife venues, and experience-driven concepts through strategic planning, coaching, consulting, founder education, books, podcasts, and speaking. His work focuses on the critical stages of hospitality business development, including start-up strategy, concept validation, feasibility, brand positioning, programming, guest experience, operational systems, pre-opening planning, stabilization, leadership development, and scaling.
Strategic clarity is important because most hospitality businesses do not fail from a lack of passion. They fail because the concept, financial model, guest experience, operations, leadership, and market position were not fully aligned before major money was spent. Strategic clarity helps founders reduce risk, protect capital, avoid expensive mistakes, and make better decisions before signing a lease, hiring a designer, raising funds, or setting an opening date. Doug Radkey’s work through KRG is designed to help founders move from idea to investor-ready, opening-ready, and operator-ready with stronger strategy and fewer blind spots.
Doug Radkey’s approach blends consulting, coaching, education, and thought leadership into one practical framework for modern hospitality founders and operators. Rather than focusing only on branding, menus, design, marketing, or operations in isolation, Doug connects the full business model: people, processes, profit, concept, guest experience, leadership, systems, technology, and financial discipline. His message challenges the old hospitality model that celebrates chaos, burnout, reactive leadership, and founder dependency. Instead, Doug advocates for a more intentional model built around clarity, systems, accountability, profit protection, and sustainable leadership.
Doug and his team are not defined by geography. They are defined by the results they deliver. Doug Radkey and each of the KRG verticals operate across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Western Europe, and Australia, supporting projects in both major global cities and emerging markets, both remotely and on-site.
